Baylor/Waco Foundation
Past Projects

The Baylor/Waco Foundation was formed December 3, 1959, by a group of downtown Waco professionals who recognized the important connection between the City of Waco and Baylor University. Its mission is to raise funds to support capital projects that enhance life in Central Texas.

Baylor/Waco Foundation's first project was to raise money to purchase land from Urban Renewal to give to Baylor for future expansion.

1959-1964 50.2 acres of land purchased
1965-1969 113.11 acres of land purchased
1970-1971 36.8 additional acres purchased

The land purchased by Baylor/Waco Foundation from 1959-1971 and given to Baylor is the site for several campus buildings. View all buildings.
1972-1977 Baylor/Waco Foundation adopted a five-year plan to support development of Baylor's marina and recreational area

2010 Hosted Dr Pepper Hour between Baylor and the Waco Central Texas Businesses promoting future Baylor Construction partnerships. Began fundraising for Baylor/Waco Foundation Endowment for future project commitments.
2011 Completed the Victory Gallery in the Simpson Center, the first scholarship was awarded from the Baylor/Waco Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund. This fund was created to support a graduate from a Waco-area high school attending Baylor. Hosted Dr Pepper Hour between Baylor and the Waco Central Texas Businesses.
2012 Representatives participated in Baylor University On Topic Lectures. Called for proposals for projects to be funded by this year's fundraising endeavors. Hosted Dr Pepper Hour between Baylor and the Waco Central Texas Businesses.
