Institutes and Special Studies

Institutes originate from the scholarly inquiry of Baylor faculty members. In the spirit of interdisciplinary cooperation, they consist of faculty & resources from several schools and some of these are degree-granting academic units. Inter- and cross-disciplinary in almost every case, they represent creative initiatives of their founders as well as practical ways of organizing certain parts of the university to accomplish specific objectives, such as graduate instruction, publication, and basic or applied research.
