Funding Priorities

  • Baylor University LHSON Mission Fund
From Mexico to Africa, this fund helps Baylor nursing students put their faith and compassion into practical action by providing medical supplies, medicines, portions of airfare and the experience of a lifetime for both undergraduate and graduate students as they participate in medical mission trips around the world.
  • Good Samaritan Dean’s Fund
Designated to meet urgent needs of individual students or the Nursing School as a whole, the Good Samaritan Dean’s Fund is used to cover those inevitable but unexpected situations that arise throughout the year, such as a student’s difficult circumstance that renders him/her unable to buy textbooks or the need to replace daily-used lab equipment.
  • Louise Herrington School of Nursing Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund
This fund comes straight from the hearts of those who have been taught, touched and changed by their own experiences as Baylor nursing students. An opportunity for gifts (of any amount) to last for countless years to come, donations to this fund are combined with others to form an endowed scholarship that will benefit future LHSON students in perpetuity.
  • Louise Herrington School of Nursing Current Scholarship Fund
Consistent with its name, this fund is used to provide scholarship support for current Baylor nursing students and is a perfect outlet for those who want their gift, combined with existing scholarships, to undergird today’s Baylor nursing students. The need for scholarship support during spring semesters is especially great.
  • Missionary Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program
A several-week mission trip—whether here in the States or in the heart of Africa—is part of the curriculum for every Baylor FNP master’s candidate. Helping them be the hands and feet of Christ among those in need, funds from this program assist graduate students with travel costs and medical supplies for this life-changing experience.
  • Nursing School Excellence Fund
A vital part of building up the Baylor nursing program, this excellence fund—distributed at the dean’s discretion—is used to meet an endless variety of needs across the campus and beyond. It’s used to fund training/seminar opportunities for faculty, supplies for students, campus building repairs and expansion and much more.
