The bears are living the high life at Baylor University. Dedicated Homecoming 2005, the Bill and Eva Williams Bear Habitat exemplifies the dedication of Baylor University to its beloved mascots. In the same location along Waco Creek but almost twice the square footage of the bears’ former home, the new environment features a waterfall, pools, caves, deadfall trees and digging areas.
The habitat, made a reality with a lead gift from Bill and Eva Williams of Scottsdale, Ariz., as well as more than 350 other donors, not only gives the bears a more natural living space but also benefits visitors, whose view of the bears has been enhanced with the raised elevation of the habitat.
