The future of America and our academic enterprise cannot be built on business as usual. It will require a culture of innovation, grounded in an innate sense of ethics. The new Foster Campus for Business and Innovation will position Baylor University at the pinnacle of excellence in preparation of tomorrow's business leaders, challenging students to seek innovation, enjoy collaboration, cultivate leadership, embrace globalization, integrate ethics and pursue employability:
A culture that values innovation and entrepreneurship will permeate the school and will be lived out through the classrooms and hands-on, real-world experiences. Students will develop an entrepreneurial mindset that places value on the integrated nature of business and breaks down narrowly-focused functional silos through ground-breaking curriculum and challenging exercises in application that cross academic disciplines.
Students will develop a complementary knowledge of business and emerging technology through collaborative learning across disciplines in newly constructed group-learning labs. Interdisciplinary teams working in these spaces will develop their analytical, problem solving and presentation skills, making them effective leaders in the interactive global business community.
Students will be prepared to enter a highly dynamic business environment of global production, exchange, information and finance. Conference and breakout areas and technology-integrated learning spaces will provide an environment that immerses students in an atmosphere designed to emulate the global marketplace.
Students will cultivate an innate sense of ethics, not because they complete a class on the subject, but because the importance of business ethics is evident in all areas of curriculum. Research, competitions and conferences on business ethics will be enhanced with conference and breakout space, faculty collaboration and student involvement.
As centers of excellence are expanded and new centers developed, students will gain expertise in emerging fields and have a seat at the forefront of national conversations surrounding areas such as healthcare management, sustainability, information technology, and developing global partnerships.
A new Career and Professional Development Program will expand key strategic recruiting partnerships with firms seeking prepared student interns and graduating students with the competitive advantage a complementary knowledge of business, science and technology provides.
