CSR SPOTLIGHT
Lake Whitney Small (w x h, 0 KB) The Center for Spatial Research (CSR) is an interdisciplinary center at Baylor University that fosters the use of spatial technologies in research and teaching. CSR was created in 1998 as the Center for Applied Geographic and Spatial Research (CAGSR).

Mission: The Center for Spatial Research facilitates education and research related to the collection, analysis and interpretation of data that have a spatial component. CSR is involved in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, short courses, and workshops about geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), digital surface mapping, field survey devices, and remote sensing.

CSR is the primary service provider for GIS education and support at Baylor University, and maintains the site license for ESRI ArcGIS software.

CSR is organized under the Vice Provost for Research, Dr. Truell Hyde. The Director of CSR is Dr. Vince Cronin, and the Assistant Director and Operations Manager is Mr. Bruce Byars. Currently, CSR works closely with the Center for Reservoir and Aquatic Systems Research (CRASR) and the Institute for Ecology, Earth and Environmental Science (TIEEES).
