Baylor > Counseling Center > Counseling Services > Policy on No-Show and Cancelled Appointments
Students who do not present for an appointment and do not call to cancel their appointment in advance will be charged a $25 no-show fee.
A no-show fee is considered to be any individual, couples, dietitian or psychiatric appointment where the student does not present for their appointment.
To avoid a fee you should cancel your appointment in advance. You can cancel your appointment by calling the counseling center at 254-710-2467 and speaking to a staff member or by leaving a message. You can also cancel your appointment in-person by coming to our office on the 2nd floor of the McLane Student Life Center (SLC).
Why does the Counseling Center have a no-show fee?
The intent of this policy is to prevent appointment from going unused due to students not showing up. This will help us keep appointment times more available so that we may offer you appointments in as timely a manner as possible! If students promptly cancel their appointments they cannot attend, that appointment is available for another student.
In addition to the $25 no-show fee, if a student does not present for their appointment and does not reschedule by 5:00 p.m. the next business day, their appointment time may be assigned to another student. Furthermore, if a student cancels twp (2)consecutive appointments their appointment time may be assigned to another student.
If an appointment time is assigned to another student, counseling services are still available if you want to continue counseling. In this event, you may be placed on a waiting list.
