DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:In Gallery II, the Martin Museum of Art will host a photography exhibition by Keith Carter.  A lyrical meditation on the joys, wonders, and anxieties of childhood, Fireflies brings us back to the small truths so often pushed aside or forgotten, as we become adults.  Informed by Carter’s own imagination-filled days spent playing in early boyhood haunts, these images allow us all to once again inhabit the stories, dreams, and make-believe worlds that children conjure.  Courtesy of the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University-San Marcos, this exhibition presents over 20 images from Carter's 2009 monograph published by the University of Texas Press. A presentation by Keith Carter, sponsored by the Baylor Fine Arts photography department, entitled Imagining Paradise, will be held in room 149 on September 13, 2012, from 4:15-5:15pm. This event is free and the public is cordially invited.
