SUMMARY:"QU4RTETS" Conference & Concert
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The Honors College, the Department of Art, the Martin Museum of Art, and the School of Music are delighted to announce an art exhibition, a one-day conference and a concert. The distinguished Japanese-American artist Makoto Fujimura, and Boston-based artist and teacher Bruce Herman, have collaborated to produce a new body of painting in response to T.S. Eliot’s "Four Quartets." The paintings will be exhibited in The Martin Museum of Art at Baylor University from November 29-December 15, 2012, and January 2-17, 2013. On the afternoon of Tuesday, January 15, the artists will participate in a panel discussion of faith and arts. That evening, there will be a concert of a newly commissioned piano quintet by the distinguished composer Christopher Theofanidis, also inspired by Eliot's great poem.
