SUMMARY:Martin Museum of Art to Feature Textile Work by Fiber Revolution

Fiber Revolution is a network of professional textile artists whose goal is to educate the public about fiber art as an exciting art form. Although the art is constructed from fabric,=0D=0A=
it is not meant to lie at the foot of the bed, but rather to hang on the wall like an oil or watercolor painting. The artists, exhibiting their work under the Fiber Revolution name, use fiber as their medium - dying it, painting it, cutting it, tearing it, stamping it, fusing it and embellishing it. A gallery talk and silkscreen demonstration by fiber artist Carolyn Lee Vehslage will be at 1-3pm on July 19 at the Martin Museum of Art. This event is free and the public is cordially invited.=0D=0A=

Due to popular demand the “Selections from the Permanent Collection” exhibition, which showcases artwork from the museum’s permanent collection and recent acquisitions from the 2011-2012 academic year, will be extended July 10 through August 18.=0D=0A=
