DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:On Split Far Away From The Mediterranean=0D=0A=
Splitting algorithms have been playing a tremendously important role in the numerical=0D=0A=
solution of linear and nonlinear partial differential equations due to their remarkable efficiency,=0D=0A=
simplicity and flexibility in computations as compared with their peers.=0D=0A=
This talk will aim at several specially designed split-step finite difference methods for solving=0D=0A=
the sine-Gordon and paraxial Helmholtz equations in electromagnetical wave applications.=0D=0A=
Highly oscillated solutions are concerned. Cosine methods and eikonal transformation based=0D=0A=
ADI/LOD procedures will be explained and illustrated. At the end, general operator splitting=0D=0A=
concept is introduced. All finite difference schemes demonstrated are easy to use and highly=0D=0A=
reliable. Simulated results will be given, including some from the ancient city on the eastern=0D=0A=
shores of the Adriatic Sea=0D=0A=
