Sorensen is a professor of English and Associate Director of the Honors Program at Saint Joseph&#039;s University, Philadelphia; a senior editor of The Collected Letters of Thomas and Jane Welsh Carlyle (Duke UP, 1970- ), and has been involved in the development of the Carlyle Letters Online.  He is the 2009 recipient of the Tengelmann Award for Distinguished Teaching and Research and has received four NEH grants totaling $670,000 for the creation and maintenance of the online project and volumes 28-39 for the collected letters.  Along with the co-editorship of Carlyle Studies Annual, Sorensen&#039;s publications include Jane Carlyle: Newly Selected Letters (edited with Kenneth J. Fielding, 2004) and The Carlyles at Home and Abroad (edited with Rodger L. Tarr, 2004).  His forthcoming works are the Strouse edition of The French Revolution (Univ. of California Press 2011) and Heroes and Hero-Worship (edited with Brent Kinser, Yale 2011).=0D=0A=
