DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE: In early 2008, L-3 Integrated Systems established a disruptive technology research and development group called Advanced Concepts. The charter of this start up organization is to combine a detailed understanding of phenomenology with market assessments to identify needs gaps and develop proof of concept demonstrators for those gaps. The expected outcome is a significant increase in Science and Technology funding opportunities, L-3/IS Intellectual Property, and growth opportunities in both adjacent and new markets. This talk will address the perspective of disruptive thinking and outline the Advanced Concepts approach to becoming a disruptive technology leader. =0D=0A=
John Fitch is currently the Director of the L-3 Communications Integrated Systems Advanced Concepts disruptive technology research group. John has been with L-3 for over 13 years and has served in a number of roles including leading the Engineering Automation Services department, Systems Engineering Integration and Test Lead for various programs, Chief Engineer for the NASA SOFIA program, Director of Six Sigma, SOFIA Program Manager, Director of NASA Programs and Director of Advanced Technology Programs.  =0D=0A=

John has degrees in Engineering, Physics and Space Physics and Astronomy from the University of Maine and Rice University. He is a certified Six Sigma Expert and was formerly the Lead Engineer for the Hubble Space Telescope at the Space Telescope Science Institute. =0D=0A=

John resides with his wife Elaine and two sons in Waco, Texas. A third son is attending Abilene Christian University on a Presidential Scholarship in Youth and Family Ministry. =0D=0A=
