         <description>The Baylor Business Review, published by Baylor University&#039;s Hankamer School of Business, has won a 2008 Gold Quill Award of Merit for its outstanding achievement in publication design and creative communication. The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) declared the publication among the best of more than 1,040 entries submitted in this year&#039;s worldwide competition.</description>

         <title>Baylor Study Finds County Disparity in the Issuance of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in Parts of Texas</title>

         <description>Residents in some rural Texas counties with a small population are less likely to be issued a severe thunderstorm warning by the National Weather Service than if they live in an urban county with a large population, even though the storm&#039;s intensity might be the same. That&#039;s just one of the findings from a Baylor University study looking at the issuance of severe weather reports and severe thunderstorm warnings over a 20-year period.</description>

         <description>Baylor freshmen Amanda Mitchell and Samantha Stephenson won second place in the Spring 2008 Capsim Foundation(R) International Challenge, a global online business simulation competition designed to teach the essential elements of running a business. Each participating team ran a $40 million company for five to eight years in the online simulation, which emphasizes finance, cause and effect relationships between functional areas, competitive analysis and satisfying customer demand.</description>

         <title>Six In A Row: Another &#039;First&#039; for Baylor Law Students on Texas Bar Exam</title>

         <description>For the sixth straight exam and the 10th time overall since 2002, Baylor law students claimed the top pass rate on the Texas State Bar Exam with 95.83 percent success rate, the highest pass rate for students from the nine Texas law schools. Of the 48 Baylor students who took the three-day exam in February, 46 passed on their first try.</description>
