American Sign Language Interpreting Minor

A minor in American Sign Language/English interpreting was established in response to the current critical state-wide shortage of qualified interpreters.. Our Goal is to lay a foundation for students who may wish to pursue further education and enter the field of interpreting

Course Requirements:
Students must complete 21 credit hours to graduate with a minor in American Sign Language Interpreting. Students are required to take the following courses:

  • CSD 2301 ASL 3
  • CSD 2302 ASL 4
  • CSD 3310 Principles of Interpreting
  • CSD 3312 Deaf Studies
  • CSD 4V30 Fingerspelling
  • CSD 4322 Interpreting 1
  • CSD 4320 Interpreting 2
