Speech Communication minors are usually preparing for professional careers in corporate communication, law, teaching or the ministry.
 


Rhetoric and Public Discourse Minor

Speech Communication majors are usually preparing for professional careers in corporate communication, law, teaching or the ministry. Instruction is offered in the areas of rhetoric and public discourse, organizational communication, and argumentation and debate.

Eighteen semester hours from the following:

  • CSS 1301 or 1302 or 1304
  • Fifteen semester hours from the following courses: CSS 3305, 3307, 3316, 3393, 3395, 4310, 4336, 4351, 4352, 4353, 4354, 4380, 4394, 4395, 4396, 4397, BIC 1323, BIC 1413
     

Corporate Communication Minor

Combines courses in the Department of Communication and the Department of Film and Digital Media. to prepare students for a broad range of communication-related positions in corporate, government, educational, and medical organizations.

Eighteen semester hours including the following:

  • CSS 4301
  • Fifteen semester hours from the following courses: CSS 1302, 3304, 3305, 3306, 3307, 3311, 3312, 3314, 3316, 4302, 4303, 4306, 4311, 4312, 4313, 4314, 4352, 4380, 4V85 
  • NOTE: At least nine of the eighteen semester hours must be at the "3000" or "4000" level
