Airbear is Baylor University's on-campus wireless network. It is an 802.11b/g network that covers a majority of campus buildings and several outdoor areas of campus.
AirBear is available in residence hall common areas, such as lobbies and study rooms, but is not available in individual residence hall rooms. The wired residential network is provided in individual residence hall rooms at no additional cost.

UPDATE!!!
When Apple released Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), Mac users experienced difficulties connecting to the AirBear wireless network in certain areas across campus. ITS staff worked closely with Apple engineers over the past several months to investigate this issue. Mac OS X 10.5.3, a free update for current 10.5 users available from Apple, resolves the issue for all Intel-based MacBook Pro, MacBook and MacBook Air users. If you have a PowerPC-based system (G3/G4) running Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) there are still a few areas on campus – most notably many classroom buildings and Starbucks and Chili's Too in the Dutton Street Parking Facility - where you will not be able to use AirBear without first downloading the Internet Connect for PowerPC application from the AirBear website. All other Apple computer users, however, can now access AirBear across campus.
To fix this problem, Apple has released a downloadable module that can be provided on an individual basis by contacting ITS Help Desk at (254) 710-4357 or visiting the ITS Shop location in the 5th Street parking garage. It can also now be downloaded here.
