Important Dates

Fall 2009
Aug. 19-20 Move-In 2009 Begins. Residence halls and apartments open for fall semester (see Dates, Times & Instructions for assigned move-In times as they vary from hall to hall)
Aug. 24 Class sessions begin
Sept. 7 Labor Day Holiday
Sept. 18-19 Parents Weekend
Oct. 16 Fall Break – All residence halls and apartments open
Oct. 23-24 Homecoming Week
Nov. 25 Thanksgiving Break - Limited services begin at 9:00 a.m. (see below)
Nov. 29 Thanksgiving Break - Standard in-session services begin at 1:00 p.m.
Dec. 7 Last day of classes
Dec. 8-9 Study days
Dec. 10-16 Final examinations
Dec. 17 Residence halls close at 6 p.m. for the semester for all non-graduating students. Graduating students may seek an extension to stay in residence no later than 2 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 (see below)
Dec. 19 Commencement
Spring 2010
Jan. 7 Residence halls open at 8 a.m. for the spring semester.
Special Note: Residence halls open for sorority rush at 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010
Jan. 11 Class sessions begin
Jan. 18 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday
Mar. 5 Limited services begin in residence halls at 8:00 a.m. for Spring Break (see below)
Mar. 6-14 SPRING BREAK
Mar. 14 Standard in-session services begin in residence halls at 1:00 p.m. after Spring Break
Apr. 2-5 Easter Holidays – All residence halls open
April 30 Last day of classes
May 3-4 Study days
May 5-11 Final examinations
May 12 Residence halls close at 6 p.m. for the semester for all non-graduating students. Graduating students may seek an extension to stay in residence no later than 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 (see below)
May 14-15 Commencement
Residence Halls will remain open during Thanksgiving & Spring Break for students with a need to remain on campus, but will provide only limited, and in some cases, no services. Services that will NOT be available include residential restaurants and Residential Technology Services. Residence Hall Front Desk coverage will be limited. Residence halls will remain locked 24/7 with access available only to current residents of that particular living area who have a valid ID card. Baylor Police and Campus Living & Learning Safety & Security Education Officers will be monitoring the campus and living areas on their normal schedule.

Excludes continuous student housing for students living in The Arbors, East Arbors, Fairmont, Gables and North Village.
