Anti-Virus Software Required: No
Airbear WPA2 is Baylor University's on-campus wireless network. All students and faculty can access this network with their Baylor ID (First Name_Last Name) and password. At this time, all residence halls can access AirBear WiFi from anywhere in the building except for North Village (Heritage North, Heritage South, Texana House, University House). ITS is currently in the proccess of installing AirBear in north village.
Anti-Virus Software Required: Yes (Windows Only)
All of our residence halls have ethernet network. Each student has 1 ethernet jack available to him/her in their room. To connect, plug your device into the yellow ethernet jack, navigate to baylor.edu, and register your computer on the network. If you have a Windows operating system, you must have a valid anti-virus software installed. For more information on how to get on the ethernet network, check out our tutorial here.
Baylor network does not support Windows XP or lower.
You may bring your Xbox 360/One or PlayStation 3/4 to Baylor and connect it to the wired ethernet network. You can register your gaming device's MAC address here.
The following devices are NOT supported on the Baylor network:
Wireless printers are currently not allowed on the wired or wireless network in the residence halls. You may still bring a wireless printer and use the USB it comes with to physically connect to your device, but it will not be able to connect to the network. You can also use PawPrints.
Only ethernet switches are allowed in the residence halls. Wireless modems, extenders, or routers are not allowed and will be disabled if plugged into the Baylor network.
Our residence halls have basic cable available for residents in their housing assignment. You will need to provide your own Coaxial Cable for you television.
