All Students

  1. How much will housing cost for the summer?
      $834 per session ($1,668 for both sessions/full summer)
      $392 for the May Minimester (Returning Residents Only)
      $299 + summer session charges - Residents attending May Minimester and Summer Session 1 have a reduced Minimester rate (Returning Residents Only)

  2. Can I stay even if I am not enrolled for the summer session?
      Students must be enrolled for the duration of the summer session for which you are living on campus.

  3. Can I stay in the same housing that I will have in the fall?
      For returning students who will live in University Parks for the Fall 2013 semester, every effort will be made to place you in your fall assignment based on summer availability. Fall incoming freshmen cannot be placed in their fall assignments due to summer conferences and preparations for the start of the semester.

  4. Can I request a roommate for the summer?
      Yes. We will be happy to accommodate MUTUAL requests. You may list roommate preferences/requests on the summer application.

  5. Can I have a single room?
      Upper division students housed in University Parks will receive a single bedroom. No single rooms are available for freshmen in Allen and Dawson Halls.

  6. What if I need to arrive early?
      Due to guest housing for summer conferences and preparations for the start of the semester, all residents must be completely moved out for the periods of:
      • May 16 (May 18 for Graduating Seniors) - June 3 (unless living on campus for May Minimester), and
      • August 15 (August 17 for Graduating Seniors) - August 21.

  7. How are assignments made?
      Assignments are made on a first come, first served basis. We are happy to accept and work on fulfilling mutual requests for roommates.

  8. What if I'm an athlete?
      Speak with your coach or the Athletics Department concerning your summer living arrangements.

  9. What if I would like to request an exemption to the requirements?

  10. I already have a fall housing application. Do I need a summer housing application also?
      Yes. The summer application process is separate from the traditional, incoming fall application. You will need to complete a separate application for the summer.

  11. Do I have to take everything home or can I put it in my fall housing assignment?
      Baylor students living on-campus* with a permanent address at least 200 miles away from Baylor may request interim housing for the time between Summer Session II and the upcoming Fall semester. A rate of $25 per night will be charged to the student's account.

      *An eligible student for Interim Housing is defined as a Baylor University student with an active housing assignment for both Summer Session II and upcoming Fall semester.

  12. When will I find out my summer housing assignment?
      Summer assignments will be communicated via email to your Baylor account the first week of May. Assignments for applicants received after May 1 will be sent out on a regular basis.

  13. When will the summer housing application be available and where can I find it on the website?
      To sign up for summer housing, please contact Campus Living & Learning at living_learning@baylor.edu. Please include your full name, 9-digit Baylor ID number, and which summer term you will be attending.

  14. Do I need a Baylor ID Card?
      All new, incoming students must have a Baylor ID Card to complete check-in. The Cashier's Office will be open on Monday, June 3 and Wednesday, July 10 from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

  15. Can I order a MicroFridge for the summer?
      Yes, MicroFridge units are available for rental for the summer. MicroFridges are the only microwaves allowed in student rooms. For pricing, please visit Collegiate Concepts' website at http://www.collegefridge.com/baylorsummer. Please note that if you are purchasing or renting a MicroFridge for the fall and spring semesters, you will need to place a separate order by going to http://www.collegefridge.com/Baylor.

Returning Students

  1. Can I stay in my same room?
      Summer housing is offered in the University Parks Apartments. If you live in this area and want to stay in your same room for the Summer Session in which you are enrolled, you must complete the summer housing application by April 20, 2013. In addition, please email Living_Learning@baylor.edu.

  2. Can I have a single room?
      All assignments in University Parks are single bedrooms.

  3. Can I list preferences?
      As all space in University Parks are single rooms and equipped with kitchens, there is no need to list room preferences. However, you may list roommate requests.

  4. Do I have to move out of my current assignment at the end of the semester and then move in later to my summer assignment?/Can I stay over the break between semesters?
      Residents who have enrolled in a May Minimester class will move to their May Minimester assignment on Sunday, May 19. Please make appropriate plans to move in on this day. For all others, guest housing for summer conferences and preparations for the start of the semester prohibit you from remaining in your spring assignment. All residents must be completely moved out between semesters.

  5. Will the shuttle for University Parks run this summer?
      The University Parks' shuttle will NOT run this summer. If this is a concern for you, spaces will be available in Allen and Dawson Halls for upper-division students. If you are interested in this option, please email Campus Living & Learning at Living_Learning@baylor.edu.
