Dr. R. Robert Creech serves University House in the North Village Residential Community as Faculty-in-Residence. He is the Hubert H. and Gladys S. Professor of Pastoral Leadership and Director of Pastoral Ministries at Baylor's George W. Truett Theological Seminary. His wife, Melinda, is a Ph.D. student in Literature and Religion in Baylor's English Department.

Robert joined the Truett faculty in 2009 following twenty-two years as Senior Pastor at the University Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. He had previously taught on the faculty of Houston Baptist University, from 1979 to 1987. 

Robert earned his B.A. in Sociology and Christianity from Houston Baptist University, his M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Ph.D. from Baylor University in New Testament studies. He co-authored The Leader's Journey in 2003 and has published chapters in several other volumes.

Robert and Melinda are native Texans who enjoy traveling, fishing, coffee, and gardening. They have three children (Alan, an architect in Houston; Taylor, a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Army Special Forces; and Jenna, a last semester senior in Radio, Television, and Film at the University of Texas at Austin), four grandchildren, and a dog (Cole). Robert and Melinda worship with the DaySpring Baptist Church.
