Simon Burris, Lecturer in Classics

Simon Peter Burris (B.A. University of Texas at Austin, Ph.D. Cornell University) has taught at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa as well as The Classical Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His interests are broad but center around poetry, especially Greek lyric. Dr. Burris is currently working on a project tentatively titled "Winners and Losers in Pindar," which explores the treatment of adversarial relationships in Greek epinician poetry.
