Antony Augoustakis, Associate Professor of Classics

 Augoustakis 08Antony Augoustakis (BA University of Crete at Rethymno; PhD Brown University) specializes in Latin Imperial epic; his monograph is entitled (M)otherhood and the Other: Fashioning Female Power in Flavian Epic. He has also finished a commentary on Plautus' Mercator for the Bryn Mawr Series. Dr. Augoustakis is in the process of editing the Brill's Companion to Silius Italicus. Dr. Augoustakis' interests include Greek Comedy, Roman Historiography, Late Latin Poetry and Historiography, and Modern Greek Epic Poetry of the Renaissance. He is the director of the Baylor in Italy program.
