At the 400th Missile Squadron, the most powerful combat unit in history, he helped deactivate the entire Peacekeeper Intercontinental Ballistic Missile force in compliance with the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START II). During law school, he interned at the Office of the General Counsel at headquarters of the Department of Homeland Security. He is now enjoying life back in his hometown of Lawton, OK where he serves as an Assistant District Attorney .
Mark writes: "To this day, people ask me what one does with a degree in Classics. It's a hard question to answer in part because I'm still realizing all I do with my Classical education. My time at Baylor with Alden Smith, Tommye Lou Davis, Jeff Fish, John Thorburn and Timothy Johnson (now at the University of Florida) as well as all my classmates laid a foundation that continues to inspire the way I approach my professional and personal life. Nothing I've done since Baylor has required a degree in Classics, but everything I've done has been a deeper, richer and more enjoyable and productive experience because of those years struggling with Plato, St. John, Cicero, Aristophanes et al. I know the intellectual and spritual challenges I faced at Baylor Classics will continue to force me to examine my life and hopefully to live a life worth examining."
