Waco ISD/Adopt-a-School Partnership
What is it?
Students of Tennyson Middle School, will learn about cultures of the world through the partnership between the Center for International Education and Waco ISD Adopt-a-School.
*All programs will be coordinated through the Center for International Education. International students, you will be contacted through Baylor email to participate in cultural events.
Baylor international students will:
- Read to the students
- Work with language skills
- Present cultural programs
- Give them insight to education worldwide
Past Adopt-a-School program and presentations have been:
- NASA night with engineering majors
- Spanish class presentations
- Japanese Origami presentations
- African culture safari presentations
- Honors and Pre-AP History classes on different cultural topics
- Chinese culture presentations
- Art projects
- Reading cultural books
*Adopt-a-School is a 25-year partnership with the Waco Independent School District.
