What is it?

A way for international students to connect with families in the states.

The Family's Commitment:

• Complete application (see above)
• Contact your student immediately upon assignment
• Call him/her periodically throughout each month so they feel connected
• Check up on student during Parent's Weekend, midterms and holidays
• Take your student on at least TWO off-campus experiences
• Invite your student over for dinner
• Make an effort to learn about their country and culture!
• Notify Melanie Smith if you are concerned about a student or unable to continue your PAWS partnership.

The International Student's Commitment:

• Complete application (see above)
• Accept invitation to the program
• Inform the program the best time of day to call you
• Return all phone calls from your Welcome Family
• Share with your Welcome Family about your country and culture!
• Notify Melanie Smith of:

• Change of address
• Change of phone number
• If you are unable to continue a relationship with your Welcome Family
• Always check your Baylor email for upcoming CIE events!
