Culture, Recreation & Resources
Cultural experiences-- Sundays are set aside for religious and cultural experiences. Catholic, protestant and non-denominational churches are located near the CES. Group trips will be taken into Guadalajara to attend the Ballet Folklorico, concerts by the Jalisco symphony or state band, tours of the Governor's palace, dramatic performances at the Cabañas Cultural Center, the Jalisco Zoological Park, shopping in Tlaquepaque, the mercado, etc. Experiencias culturales-- Los domingos se reservan para actividades culturales o religiosas. Cerca de la EEC se encuentran iglesias católicas, protestantes y sin denominación. Viajes en grupo se harán a la ciudad de Guadalajara para asistir a funciones de ballet folklorico, conciertos, zona centro de la ciudad, zonas artesanales, zoológico, etc.Other facilities-- The station has a small library where you will find the reading materials suggested by the faculty as well as other related topics. Telephone for local and long distance calls and FAX. You can exchange money in the village bank. A self-operated laundry is within walking distance. Otros Servicios-- La estación cuenta con una pequeña biblioteca donde podrás encontrar el material de lectura asignado por los profesores asi como otras referencias relacionadas a los cursos y a la ecologfa del Lago de Chapala. Teléfono para llamadas locales, de larga distancia y FAX. En la cercana villa de Ajijic hay banco, restaurantes, supermercado, lavadoras para tu ropa, etc. |

Recreation-- In addition to the usual tourist-type activities, the recreational facilities available at the CES include a swimming pool, tennis courts, table tennis, billiards, and horse-back riding. Saturday night is given over to movies or student organized activities.
