Health care-- In the event of minor injury or illness, a health clinic is located at CES. If the injury or illness is more serious, excellent medical care with U. S. trained physicians is available only 1 hour away in Guadalajara. The Mexican-American Hospital (a facility of the Southern Baptist Mission Board) accepts Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance. You are advised to verify whether your (or your family's) medical/hospitalization insurance is honored in México. It is a good idea for field scientists to have current tetanus shots.
