Chapala Ecology Station
Estación Ecológica Chapala
The Chapala Ecology Station (CES) - Estación Ecológica Chapala (EEC) offers you a unique experience: field ecology, cultural exchange and international cooperation. Most ecology courses are team taught by an American and Mexican professor, and each course enrolls approximately equal numbers of students from the United States and Canada and from México, Central and South America. Knowledge of both Spanish and English is not needed as bilingual teaching is done. Outlines of each lecture, lab and field trip are provided in English and Spanish while the lecturer uses his/her native language with further translation as needed. International cooperation is a center-piece of this program. The role of well-trained ecological scientists able to interact with each other at the scientific and social level will become increasingly important as the two nations move toward further trade agreements and industrial development.
La Estación Ecológica Chapala (EEC) - Chapala Ecology Station (CES) te ofrece una experiencia única: ecología de campo, intercambio cultural y cooperación internacional. Cada uno de los cursos en ecología es impartido en equipo por un profesor Mexicano y uno Americano y cada curso está formado por aproximadamente el mismo número de estudiantes de los Estados Unidos y Canadá y de México, Centro y Sudamérica. El cupo limitado asegura una estrecha interacción estudiante-profesor. Conocimiento de ambos Español e Ingés no es requisito, las clases son bilingues. Además guías escritas de la clase, laboratorio y prácticas de campo se proporcionan en Ingés y Español, el profesor utiliza su lengua nativa al impartir su clase y se traducirá según sea necesario. La cooperación internacional es una pieza central de este programa, el papel de ecólogos bien entrenados y capaces de interaccionar unos con otros a nivel científico y social se hace cada vez mas importante conforme las dos naciones se encaminan a acuerdos de comercio y desarrollo industrial.
