Baylor > Canvas Portal
Several upcoming changes to the Canvas interface will bring enhancements to course home pages and will allow users to access their Office 365 content for course documents, assignments, and collaborations.
In May 2016, we implemented TurnItIn's LTI-based Canvas integration that requires users to create TurnItIn assignments using the "External Tool" submission type. This integration replaced the older "check box" based method of creating TurnItIn assignments. As many of you are aware, TurnItIn's LTI-based integration proved to be less reliable than the previously used approach, resulting in many submissions not being correctly pushed back to Canvas's SpeedGrader.
In the summer of 2016, TurnItIn introduced changes to its Canvas integration that occasionally cause student submissions to not appear in SpeedGrader. Until TurnItIn fixes these issues, you should make sure to check the TurnItIn interface in Canvas when student submissions fail to appear in SpeedGrader.
Instructure has issued a security advisory to inform Canvas users about a Chrome browser extension that behaves like malware called OneClass being distributed via phishing emails. Do not respond to the messages or go to the website included in the messages. If you have installed the extension, please contact the Baylor University Help Desk immediately for assistance.
