Description: Learning how to sport climb at the rock allows for a whole new climbing experience. When you learn to "take the rope with you" it truly does sharpen your experience. This class will cover safety, gear, lead belays, clipping, and taking safer falls. This is a required class for anyone who would like to become "lead-certified" at the Baylor rock wall and will prepare you to demonstrate your skills. Prerequisite for this class are the ability to cleanly climb a 5.9 on top rope and being belay certified. Additionally, while much of what you will learn is transferable, this class is not designed to prepare you for sport or traditional climbing in any other context. Stop by the SLC Service Desk to register soon as space is limited and classes are small.
