"B A HEALTHIER U" NUTRITION WEEK
Nutrition Awareness Week is filled with guest speakers, nutrition education information and free body fat assessments.
Each semester the Bearobics instructors come together for a
1 1/2 hour mega-Bearobics extravaganza! Each instructor teaches a different portion of the program and the Bash is free for all students, faculty and staff. Door prizes and refreshments are available at the end of the program.
HIKE CAMERON PARK
At least once each semester, join your fitness staff for a morning hike at Waco's famous Cameron Park. Participants can choose to hike at one of three different fitness levels; beginner, intermediate, or advanced. The event lasts approximately one hour and concludes with group cool down stretches and light snacks.
I "HEART" ME
This is a new initiative at Baylor University that is designed to meet the wellness needs of a diverse student population. The main objective of the campaign is to inform students about the importance of caring for themselves and others by discovering a self-worth and identity based on their intrinsic value rather than the contingencies of appearance, success and social status. The campaign will also equip students with tools that they can use to begin to make a difference on campus and in the lives of friends and family by being role models in expressing love, acceptance, awareness and growth.
OSO FIT FAIR
The OSO FIT Fair is held during the first week of each semester at the McLane SLC lobby. Several assessment stations are offered including body fat percentage, sit and reach flexibility test, and blood pressure measurement. In addition, fitness program tables are set up for Bearobics, Bear Cycle, Peer Nutrition Education, Personal Training, Wellness, and Massage Therapy. This event is free for all students, faculty and staff.
