Cycling
#1. Are there tryouts for your team?
No, there are no tryouts.
#2. How many days and hours/week do you practice?
Practice is flexible and up to each team member. There are scheduled group rides almost every day of the week.
#3. Typically where are your games/ practices held?
We train on the roads (or trails for mountain bike season) surrounding Waco.
#4. What schools do you compete against? What league you're in?
We are part of the South Central Collegiate Cycling Conference (SCCCC), which is under the governance of USA Cycling. We compete against the other schools from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
#5. When is your season? Do you practice in the off-season?
Fall is Mountain Bike season, and spring is Road season; so, technically there is no off-season, but those who only participate in one type of riding still do practice in the off-season.
#6. Do students need experience to join?
No experience necessary.
#7. What are the dues for your club?
Dues are $50 for the whole year. This includes travel fees (gas, race entrée fees, lodging), group rides, and social gathering.
