In the 21st century, people again see the importance of understanding the history and political institutions that gave rise to our own. Baylor University's new Colloquium on Ancient and Modern Political Inquiry (CAMPI) seeks to promote a conversation between those engaged in contemporary politics and scholars grounded in the study of the ancient world. CAMPI seeks to present the best scholarship concerning ancient and modern politics with bearings upon the pressing political and cultural issues of our time. Join us for the third annual Colloquium on Ancient And Modern Political Inquiry, featuring Kip Averitt, Peter Aicher, and Sandra Postel, on the Baylor University campus. The theme for 2010 is "H2Old and New: Water and Our World."
This year's colloquium is presented as a free event for the public through the efforts of the Baylor Honors College, Department of Classics, Center for Reservoir and Aquatic Systems Research (CRASR), Institute of Ecological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (TIE3S), Department of Environmental Science, Environmental Health Science Program, College of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and Computer Science, and Office of the Vice Provost for Research. All presentations will be conducted in either the Cashion Academic Center or the Alexander Reading Room. Students and faculty from Baylor and other universities, as well as community leaders, are welcome to attend all events.
