Special BURST/Baylor Math Club Event With Tom Banchoff and Dano Johnson Set For September 20

On September 20-21 2012, Professor Tom Banchoff (Brown University) and movie maker Dano Johnson will visit for a special undergraduate event co-sponsored by BURST (Baylor Undergraduate Research in Science and Technology) and M™BIUS, Baylor's Math Club.

The event gets underway on Thursday, September 20 with Dr. Banchoff's lecture "From 'Flatland' to 'Sphereland' and Beyond" at 4pm. This talk will be followed by a public reception with light snacks and refreshments from 5:00-5:45 pm and culminate with Dano introducing the Baylor premiere of his latest movie "Flatland 2: Sphereland", the much-anticipated sequel to his 2007 hit movie "Flatland: the Movie".

Both the lecture and movie will take place in D109 of the Baylor Sciences Building; the reception will take place in E2 of the BSB.

All students, non-students, and faculty are welcome to attend this exciting event.
