Information Meeting - Walking as Pilgrim Witnesses Along the Via Francigena

DescriptionCome and explore the possibility of walking as a pilgrim and witness along an ancient pilgrim trail in May-June 2018. Dr. Stroope and a group of Truett students will join pilgrims from all over Europe, and those who have walked the Via Francigena since the 10th century, on a journey from Canterbury, England, through France, Switzerland, and Italy, to Rome. This three-hour credit class (Summer 1) will afford the opportunity to explore the ancient and modern traditions of pilgrimage, to visit primary sites of the medieval church, to give and receive witness to/from fellow pilgrims, and to seek God through prayer, walking, reflection, and conversation.Space is limited and selection is by application only.
