Technology companies today want to hire business graduates who know how to talk R&D with engineers and collaborate with them from inception to launch.
TEI offers you the opportunity to work alongside engineers on a real-world engagement. Through your TEI experience, you'll gain a compelling story employers rarely hear.
How do I participate in TEI?
Participation in TEI is open to all business majors both graduate and undergraduate. Based on your future goals, you will select between a domestic track or an international track.
Domestic Track
- Complete Corporate Entrepreneurship (ENT4330 for Undergrads, ENT5342 for Grads)
- Complete Technology Entrepreneurship (ENT4340 for Undergrads, ENT5341 for Grads)
International Track
- Complete Corporate Entrepreneurship (ENT4330 for Undergrads, ENT5342 for Grads)
- Complete Technology Entrepreneurship in Asia (ENT4352)
TEI Course Replacements
Though there is not currently an exhaustive list of course substitutions, you can incorporate the TEI program into your degree plan with the help of your advisor.
Note: As a Graduate student, participating in i5 can also serve as your internship credit.
Baylor Graduate students who receive tuition remission and participate in the i5 program have a special arrangement to receive six hours rather than three.
"For my MBA, I led an i5 cross-disciplinary team of Baylor and Shanghai students analyzing for Hewlett-Packard how it could utilize its strategic position in China to leverage HP's 3G wireless network. My resumé description of the TEI team leadership landed a tough-to-get interview with AT&T, and during a last round phone conversation for my dream job, the China experience was a major talking point. Now I'm in my second management rotation in AT&T's Leadership Development Program."
