Global Recognition for Baylor Alumna

Baylor University's Center for Professional Selling announced that Baylor alumna DeAnn Draper Bartlett was recently named Global Sales Manager of the Year for the Americas region at HP, where she has worked since 1993. Bartlett is one of three Global Sales Managers from HP's global field sales team to be honored for their 2011 accomplishments and contributions.

"It is an honor to be selected from a team of such talented people," says Bartlett, who HP will recognize in February at the 2012 HP Winners Circle in The Bahamas.

In November 2010, Bartlett became a Director for the Global Sales Organization within HP's Manufacturing Industry Segment. She has responsibility for leading a team of Account Managers supporting customers and selling HP solutions and services. The award recognizes her for the leadership of her team and the work they do with customers and partners.

"I work with my team and partners worldwide to provide optimal HP solutions for our customers. I use a very collaborative and inclusive style that I originally developed during my time at Baylor," says Bartlett.

Bartlett's interest in sales stemmed from her father's career as a sales leader at Texas Instruments. She enrolled at Baylor to study Marketing and Management, earning a double major in those areas before beginning her career at a telecommunications company and then IBM. Bartlett credits her business coursework at Baylor with creating a solid foundation in subject matter expertise and critical thinking, especially in Organizational Behavior and Management.

"I have always had a passion for working with a variety of companies across industries and helping them use technology to achieve their goals. Working with product specialists, executive sponsors and an excellent team allows me to fulfill that passion while delivering world-class solutions to HP customers."

Following graduation and the start of her career in sales at IBM, Bartlett joined HP as a Client Account Manager. She served as the South Central Area Sales Manager for HP focusing on Fortune 1000 companies in the North Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana areas. She also headed up sales teams focusing on industry verticals within HP such as Manufacturing, Telecommunications and Emerging Service Providers, and Transportation.

While at Baylor, Bartlett was involved with the Marketing Association and a number of youth organizations. She currently serves on Baylor's Center for Professional Selling Advisory Board.
