Baylor and 3M Team-Up To Host Annual Sales Conference

Each year, 3M executives, university professors and college students from across the country gather for the annual Frontline Sales Conference. This year's conference, co-hosted by 3M and Baylor University's Center for Professional Selling, focuses on Reshaping Sales and Sales Leadership and takes place from April 14-17, 2012 in Waco, Texas.

3M's Frontline Sales Initiative is a unique collaboration between 3M and the academic community established to influence curricula and research conducted on sales issues involving "frontline employees."

This year's conference features an impressive program of keynote speakers representing the leading edge of sales thought and research. Brent Adamson, Senior Director of The Corporate Executive Board, David Alexander, Executive VP of SGA Inc., and 3M's Leadership Academy will conduct sessions on sales and sales leadership. Mr. Alexander also is an active member of the Center for Professional Selling's Advisory Board. Dina Dwyer-Owens, Chairwoman & CEO of The Dwyer Group, will share her recent appearance on CBS' Undercover Boss is impacting the franchise sales operations.

In addition to its continued impact on the sales industry, the conference also serves as a launch-event for students selected to participate in 3M's summer Frontline Sales Internship Program. During Summer 2012, 26 student interns will complete a 10-week, paid internship in one of 3M's five market centers. Of the 26 interns chosen, four rising seniors were selected from Baylor's Professional Selling program. Bryan Baker, Madeline Giering, Taylor Morrison, and Joanna Murrieta will represent the Baylor's Center for Professional Selling at the 2012 conference and as 3M interns this summer.

"3M has a long track record of exploring new ideas in sales and Baylor has served as a trail-blazer in helping 3M with the Frontline program and in driving sales programs through the University Sales Center Alliance."

Frontline Sales Conference events will be held at the Hilton Waco, the Waco Convention Center, and on the campus of Baylor University.
