Who Should Consider this Major?

Anyone who has a passion for a cause or believes in a mission should seriously consider majoring in this program. A recent survey of nonprofit managers across a broad spectrum of organizations was conducted. In that survey they were asked , "If you could start your career over and prepare to lead a nonprofit organization, how would you prepare to do that in college?" Over 90 percent of the respondents said, "I would learn to be an excellent fundraiser." This major prepares a student to work in either the private or nonprofit sectors of the economy, but there is special emphasis on raising resources for nonprofit organizations. Regardless of economic conditions in the country, many nonprofit development officers are hired every year. Working in that part of the nonprofit organization prepares one to lead such organizations.
