Accounting Program "Big Mover" in Rankings

Nov. 9, 2006

The Accounting Program at Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business continues to garner acclaim as one of best programs in the nation. Results of the Public Accounting Report's rankings, published Oct. 30, 2006, declare Baylor's undergraduate Accounting program a "big mover" on the list, climbing six spots to attain 18th place. Baylor's graduate Accounting program entered the list at 24th place.

"Being recognized by one's peers is a great honor," said department chair Dr. Charles Davis. "These rankings validate what we have believed for some time - our accounting programs are among the best in the country. And this is a result of the hard work of our students and faculty."

In their peer groups, the Baylor programs rank even higher. The undergraduate Accounting program is ranked 4th among private schools and 6th among non-PhD schools, while the graduate Accounting program ranks 5th among both private schools and non-PhD schools.

The survey, conducted by Public Accounting Report, asks accounting professors, department heads and department chairs to name the undergraduate and graduate programs that offer degrees in accounting they feel most consistently turn out students capable of someday attaining partner status.
