Davis Appointed to Walter Plumhoff ProfessorshipNov. 30, 2004
Dr. Charles E. Davis, Chair of the Department of Accounting and Business Law, has been appointed to the Walter Plumhoff Professorship in Accounting.
Dr. Davis teaches managerial accounting, information systems, and accounting research and communication and served as Director of Graduate Accounting Programs prior to being named department chair in 2002. His research has been published in journals such as Accounting Horizons, Advances in Accounting Behavioral Research, Managerial Auditing Journal, Advances in Accounting Education, Issues in Accounting Education, Journal of Accounting Education, Strategic Finance, The CPA Journal, and Today's CPA.
Dr. Davis is active in the American Accounting Association, having served as president of the Accounting, Behavior, and Organizations Section. He has also served on a number of AICPA committees.
Dr. Davis holds a BBA in accounting from the College of William and Mary, an MBA from the University of Richmond, and a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
