John Cullins Honored as Beta Alpha Psi Fall 2003 Distinguished AlumnusNov. 19, 2003
John Cullins, industry leader for Ernst & Young's Southwest Area Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction tax practice, has been named Fall 2003 Beta Alpha Psi Alumnus. John has twenty-two years of experience at Ernst & Young, primarily serving the real estate industry, and was admitted as a partner in 1989. He currently serves as the tax partner for several public and private Real Estate Investment Trusts ("REITs") and three hospitality companies. John has extensive experience in structuring real estate partnerships and joint ventures, and has assisted his clients in the acquisition of more than $6 billion of real estate assets in the past five years through mergers, entity acquisitions, partnership roll ups and tender offers.
John is a frequent author and lecturer on real estate tax topics. He serves on the Executive Board and is the current Treasurer of The Real Estate Council. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. John serves on the Accounting Advisory Board for Baylor University, and has previously served as a Director for the Baylor Alumni Association. John received his BBA from Baylor in 1978, and a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from Baylor in 1981. He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockwall.
