Baylor MIS Program Wins Southwest Region Innovative Teaching Award

The Southwestern Region Business Dean's Association awarded Baylor's Management Information Systems Program the Bobby Bizzell Innovative Teaching Award at their annual meeting held June 14-16 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The proposal entitled "Solving the Management Information Systems Enrollment Crisis" highlights the initiatives that the MIS program has undertaken to address the enrollment crisis and prepare students for careers in technology. Currently, their is a shortage of information systems graduates across the country, in a time where many students in other fields are having difficulty finding jobs. The most innovative aspect of the program is that the MIS students actually execute all the initiatives including fundraising, relationship building, project planning and marketing.

The Southwestern Business Dean's Association represents all the business schools in states across the Southwest region. The award includes $1500 donated by Business Week to continue the good work of the program.
