Emphasis on Personal and Professional Development
Baylor MBA students are as diverse, action-oriented and intriguing as the business arena itself. Because the Baylor MBA program requires an intense level of commitment, our students tend to be serious-minded individuals with fully defined personal and professional goals.
Imagine sitting in your Baylor classroom. Your classmate on your left may be an experienced professional returning to school - seeking to move into advanced levels of management or a recent graduate who knows an MBA will strengthen a resume and increase career options.
Your classmate on your right may be a non-business graduate who recognizes the intrinsic value that advanced managerial skills bear on any given profession, or an international student attending Baylor through an exchange program.
These students choose Baylor's full-time MBA program because they understand that the personal and professional return on the investment is of lifelong benefit.
All students begin their MBA experience by attending orientation prior to starting classes. During orientation students initiate their career management plans; network with currently enrolled students and faculty members; and collaborate through team-building exercises.
The Graduate Business Association is a career-focused organization that provides valuable opportunities to round out your MBA experience beyond the classroom, such as social and cultural events, student and faculty mixers and alumni networking.
Baylor MBA's volunteer with the Prison Entreprenuership Program (PEP).Prison outreach from a business perspective occurs when volunteering business consultants teach inmates the skills needed to run their own businesses once released from prison. Both students and inmates emerge from this experience immensely changed for the better. More than 25 Baylor MBA students volunteer their time to meet with prisoners through scheduled visits, edit proposed business plans via email, and offer advice over phone conversations. In October 2008, Baylor MBA's traveled to Cleveland, TX, to meet with inmates in the PEP program. PEP offers MBA students the chance to apply newly learned skills to unique business situations, while simultaneously giving back to society.
