Faculty and Research

Faculty

The intimacy of the MBA program at Baylor lies within the strong student-professor relationship. While it is possible at large programs for students to get lost in the shuffle, at Baylor you'll work with faculty members on academic and non-academic projects, such as personal goal setting, coursework plans, internship and career opportunities, or interviewing and placement. Your relationship with faculty members will help you sharpen your ambitions and form a solid basis upon which to develop the business acumen to succeed.

Baylor professors also pursue research or consulting opportunities that keep them in the vanguard of their fields. This pursuit of knowledge, carefully balanced with teaching, translates to better classroom discussion and an excellent education.

More than 125 full-time faculty members, including 27 endowed professors, teach within six departments in the Hankamer School of Business. Research centers in private enterprise, entrepreneurial studies, international business, and emerging technologies further link corporate and academic worlds.

Centers and Institutes

The Center for Private Enterprise promotes the understanding of the American Economic System and responds to the needs of those businesses that make the system work. The Center for Entrepreneurial Studies extends support to the business community that facilitates new business and furthers the goals of established businesses. The McBride Center for International Business provides general coordination and support of all Baylor Business international activities. The Institute of Emerging Technologies serves as the umbrella for a technology incubator (in cooperation with the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and the Waco Chamber of Commerce) and research centers with emphases in four key areas: electronic commerce, knowledge management (data mining and data warehousing), geographical information systems, and performance improvement technologies.
