Why Become A BEaP Major?

The Brand Engagement and Promotion (BEaP) track in marketing will prepare you to create integrated communication strategies derived from sound research, analytics, and insights. The purpose is to prepare you to then integrate these communication strategies for brands to use in order to engage customers at key passion points.

Collaborative Environment

Upon admission as a junior, you will join a cohort of fellow students and professors that you will work closely with throughout the program. BEaP classes strive to integrate corporate clients and agencies to connect you with career opportunities.

Experiential Learning

BEaP classes meet in the Mike Curb Music & Entertainment Marketing Learning Lab, a 24-seat digital media lab equipped with the latest technology to create and manage promotion campaigns.

Learning Opportunities

  • Brand Engagement Challenge
    Senior team strategy competition with a client brand, property and agency.
  • Brand Research Project
    Design and execute consumer insight research with client brand, property and/or agency.
  • Ad Campaigns Competition
    Junior team strategy competition with client brand, property and agency.
  • Upoar Headliner Concert Series
    Majors and Uproar Club members plan and execute sponsored concert with a headliner act and original Uproar artists.
  • MKT/Sales Career Fair
    Interviews with company recruiters in the fall and spring each year.


Selection for the program is based on:

  • Application essays
  • Academic performance (3.0 GPA minimum)
  • Analytical skills (performance in QBA 2302/2305)
