Baylor Business Women Kicks Off with Session on Investment, Financial Strategies

By Emily Stroderd, Baylor Business Women Treasurer/Historian

Baylor Business Women is off to a great start! Our first event of the semester, “Get Smart about Money and Success," brought like-minded students together to relate money management principles to the college experience. The first guest speaker of the semester, president and CEO of Getting Smart, Charlotte Stallings, used her enthusiasm and expertise to educate students in an unforgettable way. Drawing upon personal experience, Stallings stressed the importance of developing financial responsibility before entering the “real world” and discussed realistic saving and investment strategies. She created a comfortable atmosphere where students learned how to assess financial realities and achieve financial goals. The event was a great way to for Baylor Business Women to kick off the fall semester!

We invite you to join us on October 4th for our next event, “How to be a Positive, Productive Person and Make Every Day a Great One.” Julie Alexander from Women’s Wellness Project will be the guest speaker. All students are welcome. To register and learn more about Baylor Business Women, visit www.baylor.edu/business/women.
