Baylor MBA student receives NSHMBA ScholarshipSept. 2, 2005
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) awarded one of its 2005-06 scholarship to Baylor MBA/JD student Joanna Menendez. NSHMBA scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, work experience, personal statement of goals and aspirations, community service, letters of recommendation, NSHMBA ambassadorship, and financial need.
Menendez entered Baylor's MBA program in Fall 2004. Having completed 33 hours of core MBA courses, she then entered Baylor Law School in Fall 2005 in pursuit of her JD degree.
Menendez was a member of the Baylor team that won second place out of 20 top MBA programs at the George Washington University International MBA Case Competition.
She was inducted into Betta Gamma Sigma for the second time in her academic career. She served as Vice-President of the Global Graduate Business Council and as a member of the Baylor MBA Recruitment Committee.
Along with attending law classes this fall, Menendez will return to work as an instructor for Kaplan Test Centers, teaching test strategies for the GMAT, LSAT and SAT.
