Due to increased defenses against hackers, ITS has installed software to allow a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection to the Baylor network for users not connecting via Baylor's long-distance dial-in access. The VPN software must be used in order to access some network services from off-campus if using services such as ClearSource or RoadRunner. The VPN is not necessary if using the Baylor long-distance dial-in.
You may access your I: drive and L: drive if you have installed the Baylor VPN software mentioned above. The locations for each are:

There is $5-$15 fee to cover the cost of purchasing the CDs, but then you will have a set to keep at home. 9. Is there an 800# for checking email when out of town?
Yes. Telephone Services provides a toll-free incoming call service for employees to connect to the Baylor network and check their e-mail and conduct other Baylor network based business. This toll-free number will provide a computer network connection and the traveler will need to use the normal authentication process, i.e. fs\Bear_ID and password. Fees will be charged to the department. The toll-free number for network dial-in is 1-877-445-0103.
10. Is there an 800# for checking voice mail when out of town?
Yes. The University spends approximately $75,000 annually on credit card calls by Baylor employees while they are traveling on Baylor business. Many of these calls are to the campus. In order to reduce this expenditure, Telephone Services has installed a toll-free incoming call service that any Baylor employee can use for official Baylor business while they are traveling. Typically our Baylor calling card calls cost between 25 and 50 cents per minute. By using the toll-free number, these charges will be less than 10 cents per minute. Also, in order to reduce the operational costs for this service, Telephone Services will bear the complete cost of these calls so they will not be charged back to the individual departments. The new toll-free number for this access is 1-877-445-0102.The employee can call this toll-free number during work days from 7:30-6:00 and reach the Baylor operator. They will identify themselves by name, department and office telephone number if the Baylor operator can verify that the caller is a Baylor employee, the operator will then transfer the individual to the number to which they want to connect on campus. (To check your voice mail sure to ask to be transferred to ext. 3000).
This service is to be used only by Baylor employees who are traveling and only for calling back to the University for business purposes. Under no circumstances should this number and procedure be given to others.

Right-click the picture and choose Save Picture As. Select a directory to save the file in and click Save . Be careful of copyright infringement.
14. Why is an image on my home page not showing up?
HTML code is case-sensitive. When your files are transferred using Cute.ftp, sometimes the file names are converted to lower case. For instance, if you have an image file called "Image1.gif," the file name will become "image1.gif" when the ftp process is complete. The case doesn't change in the HTML code of the document. Therefore, because of the case-sensitive nature of HTML, the browser is looking for a file with a different name, (which it doesn't find.) Another potential problem is the matter of filenames. FTP changes and shortens long file names. For all practical purposes, file names should be limited to eight (8) lower case digits or less. To prevent problems, spaces should not be used in file names.
15. How do I access the P:\drive outside the computer lab?
You may access your P:\Drive on any Baylor computer by going to Start, Run and typing in \\casey2\stu\Bear_Id. For example: Mr. Bobby Baylor with a email address of Bobby_Baylor@baylor.edu would type in \\casey2\stu\Bobby_Baylor.
